    Assistant or Associate Professor in Epidemiology
    FHS is currently seeking a candidate with a Ph.D. degree in epidemiology, or a related discipline with strong methodological background for its Department of Epidemiology and Population Health.  Experience in health research is strongly valued.

    FHS offers MPH and MS degrees and contributes public health courses to the MD program at the Faculty of Medicine. It also offers undergraduate degrees in Health Sciences. The language of instruction is English.

    Research Assistantships

    Full time research assistant at the Center for Research on Population and Health (CRPH)

    Qualifications
    - A Master in Public Health-concentration Epidemiology and Biostatistics or a Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics
    - One or more years experience  in data management and analysis
    - Previous experience in data collection, data management, data analysis, write up of manuscripts
    - Good command of English and Arabic
    - Excellent computer skills (specifically Microsoft Office, SPSS, STATA.)

    Job Description
    The position mainly involves data management and analysis of the community-based randomized  trial on medically unexplained vaginal discharge (MUVD) among women in Hey el Sellom, and specifically to:

    1. Assist in the six-months follow up data collection and management of the Hey el Selloum (MUVD) project
    2. Coordinate closely with the field coordinator to follow up on the logistics of the project in the field
    3.
    Assist in data analysis related to the MUVD trial
    4.
    Assist in the write up of scientific papers related to the MUVD trial
    5.
    Assist in the write up of future research proposals
    6.
    Assist the center in holding/arranging office meetings, workshops, as well as other events and prepare minutes of meetings and other related logistic support
    7.
    Maintain note-taking and filing system activities in the center
    8.
    Assist in other administrative logistics, prepare payment orders and keep a financial inventory

    Contract duration and remuneration
    A one year contract, with three months probation period effective as soon as possible.  Remuneration depends on educational level and years of experience.

    Qualifications
    • A Bachelor or Master degree in statistics, biostatistics, information management systems or related fields.
    • One year experience in data management, database administration and software development.
    • Good knowledge of English and Arabic.
    • Good team player and ability to interact with researchers.

    Job Description
    To manage the CRPH computer lab, to develop and maintain data including research databases and to provide support for CRPH researchers with their data processing needs.

    Basic Functions:
    • Provide statistical computing support for use of statistical software and to help with ensuring data quality.
    • Provide relevant training and consultative services to researchers, CRPH staff, affiliates and graduate students.
    • Perform logical and physical database design; build new databases or manage existing ones (including backup, recovery and security).
    • Install and configure software in a Windows XP environment.
