The Health Education Resource Unit (HERU) is a community-oriented initiative
to assist local and regional organizations and health professionals in the
development of health promotion programs and materials for different target
groups.
HERU was established in 1986 as a joint project of the Faculty of Health
Sciences (FHS), UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO), and the Ministry
of Public Health (MOPH). It is located at the FHS at the American University
of Beirut (AUB). Since its inception, HERU has been involved in a variety
of health promotion topics in both local and regional projects.
